Simple Grilled Octopus with Lemon and Parsley

With just a few key ingredients, this easy grilled octopus recipe brings out the rich flavors of the seafood. The char from the grill gives the octopus more depth, and the grilled lemon's sourness and the freshness of the parsley go well with it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 octopus about 2-3 pounds
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 2 lemons, halved
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions:

Warm the grill up to a medium-high level

Take off the octopus's beak and eyes and wash it well under cold water

Use paper towels to dry the octopus, and then sprinkle it with a lot of salt and black pepper

It should be grilled for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, until it is charred and cooked all the way through

If you stick a fork through it, it should feel soft

Add the lemon halves to the grill with the cut side down in the last few minutes of cooking

Cook until they are charred and juicy

Take the lemons and octopus off the grill and set them down for a while

Cut the octopus into pieces that can be served and put them on a platter

Put the octopus on a grill and squeeze the halves of lemon over it

Then drizzle extra-virgin olive oil over it and top it with chopped parsley

Serve right away
