Classic Hummus
A traditional, creamy hummus recipe that works well as a spread or dip for different foods.
Ingredients:
- 1 can 15 ounces chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice 1 large lemon
- 1/4 cup well-stirred tahini
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for serving
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- 2 to 3 tablespoons water
- Dash of paprika, for serving
Instructions:
Put garlic, olive oil, cumin, chickpeas, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a food processor
Mix until smooth
If the mix is too thick, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water slowly while blending until the right consistency is reached
If you think it needs more salt or lemon juice, taste it and add more as needed
Put the hummus on a plate to serve and drizzle it with extra olive oil
Add paprika on top
As you like, serve with pita bread or fresh vegetables
